Elizabeth “Betty” Carico Peek, 69, formerly of Midlothian, VA, died April 19, 2016. Betty was born May 10, 1946 in Marion, VA to Claude Carico and Elizabeth Hayes. Graduating from Patrick Henry High School in 1964, Betty pursued a life-long career as a teacher, graduating from Peace College, Mary Baldwin College, and earning her Masters of Education through Georgia State University.  

Betty married David “Ras” Erastus Peek on July 11, 1970 in Roanoke, VA. They enjoyed 45 wonderful years together. In 2012, Betty retired from Chesterfield County Public Schools after a long career of teaching elementary school. When she was not teaching, Betty could be found gardening, reading, at Bible Study, or with her grandchildren who were the love of her life.  

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Friday, April 22, 2016 at Pollock-Best Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Greenleaf Memorial Park, Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 11 AM.  

Betty is survived by her husband, David “Ras” Peek; her son, Richard Peek (Christy) of Richmond, VA; her daughter, Elizabeth Seeger (Ryan) of New Bern, NC; her sister, Jane Cobb (Herb); 4 grandchildren; and 2 nieces.
