Raymond H. (Pete) White Jr., 62, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Friday, December 28, 2007. He was retired from Norfolk Western and Norfolk Southern Railway with 33 years of service and held several positions in Transportation, Operating and Mechanical Departments. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond H. White and mother, Bradley N. White. He is survived by two sisters, Rose E. Gravett, of Fincastle, Va., and Martha Jackson and husband, C.S., of Greensboro, N.C.; three sons, C. Lucas White, of Boones Mill, Va., Joshua B. White, of Glade Hill, Va., and Kendall E. White and wife, Valerie, of Wirtz, Va.; three grandchildren, Erica, Cody and Jacob of Wirtz, Va.; a very special partner, Kathleen Faye Jennings, of Rustburg, Va., who brought much happiness to Pete's life; also several nieces and great-nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Hunter's for the Hungry, or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008, at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Elmo McLaurin officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour before the service at Oakey's North Chapel & Crematory.
