Sandra Kerfoot (Brunk)

May 14, 1946 May 26, 2017 Sandra K. Brunk, 71, a native of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Sandra was a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and attended National Business College in Salem. She began her career at General Electric and was presently a self-employed artist, in which she achieved numerous awards for her artwork, an exhibitor at many local art shows, and was well-known throughout Southwest Virginia for her watercolor collages of College Prints. She was a long-time member of the Virginia Water Color Society and The League of Roanoke Artists and a 50-year member of Beta Sigma Phi. Sandra was also a member of the La-De-Da Women's Club and was a past member of Totera Women's Club and Brambleton Junior Women's Club. An avid golfer, Sandra achieved four holes-in-one through her golfing career. She was a member of Hidden Valley Country Club, where she was past Treasurer and a member of the Ladies Golf Association, and the Water's Edge Country Club, where she was past President of the Ladies Golf Association. Sandra was also a member of Hanging Rock Ladies Golf Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel F. Kerfoot Jr.; sister and brothers-in-law, Randy and Toni Walker, and Thomas S. Waterman; and uncle, James D. Melton. Sandra is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dallas D. Brunk; her loving son, Jeffrey D. Brunk; sister, Kelley Matthew and her husband, Charlie; niece, Holly Harrison and her fiancé, Jared Beaty; brother-in-law, Tracy Brunk and his wife, Christina, and their children, Thomas and Grace; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and her special friend, Vaunda Leftwich. The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers, Janice Pinkard, Joyce Davis, Wanda Hinchee, and Kay Miller. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Oakey's South Chapel with Pastor Loren Mitchell officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday following the service at Hidden Valley Country Club. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Oakey's South Chapel.
